This Privacy Policy explains what data the Dog Trainer device, dashboard, and cloud service (the "Service") collects, why, and what rights you have over it. The Service is operated by Ofir Haselkorn, an individual based in Israel ("we," "us"). Contact: ofirhasel@gmail.com.
The Service is an early-stage pilot with a small number of users. This policy is written to be accurate about what the software actually does today, not aspirational.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address, password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text) | Account login |
| Device ID, device name, when a device was paired/last seen online | Let you manage and connect to your device(s) |
| Zone definitions (the shape/coordinates you draw on the camera view) and who last edited them | Configure detection zones |
| Event log (timestamps and event type, e.g. "dog entered zone") | Show your alert history |
| Live video stream and periodic frames from your camera | Show you live view; frames are relayed/processed for detection and are not stored as a video archive by the backend beyond what's needed to relay them |
| A voice clip you record/upload, if you choose to use a custom deterrent sound | Played back by the device when a dog enters a zone |
| Push notification subscription (endpoint and keys your browser gives us) | Deliver alert notifications to your phone/browser |
| Which other accounts you've shared a device with, and their role | Multi-user device sharing |
We do not continuously record ambient audio in your home. The device has no "always listening" microphone feature; audio is limited to playing back a clip you choose.
Your account data, zones, events, and live view are visible only to you and any account you've explicitly shared a device with via the dashboard's sharing feature. We (the Operator) can access data as needed to operate, debug, and maintain the Service — for example, to investigate a bug report — but we don't sell your data, and we don't share it with third parties for advertising.
The cloud backend runs on a DigitalOcean server. Live video/frame relay and remote video (WebRTC) may pass through a TURN relay server we operate when a direct connection isn't possible. Push notifications are delivered via your browser vendor's push service (e.g. Google, Mozilla, Apple) as part of the standard Web Push protocol — we don't control what those vendors do with delivery metadata under their own policies.
Because the Service is offered to users regardless of location, and the Operator and hosting infrastructure are outside your country, using the Service means your data may be transferred to and processed in Israel and other countries (such as wherever our hosting provider's servers are located), which may have different data protection laws than your own. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
We keep account, zone, and event data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (contact us to request this — there is no self-serve delete yet in this pilot), we will delete your account record, zones, event history, voice clips, and push subscriptions within a reasonable time, except where we're required to keep something for legal or security reasons (e.g. abuse investigation).
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR, Israel's Privacy Protection Law, or US state privacy laws). Because this is a small pilot with no self-serve account tools yet, exercise any of these rights by emailing ofirhasel@gmail.com and we'll handle it manually.
We use industry-standard measures where practical — passwords are hashed, not stored in plain text; the dashboard and API are served over HTTPS/TLS; the device connects to the backend over an authenticated encrypted WebSocket. That said, this is pilot-stage software: it has not been through an independent security audit, and no system is 100% secure. Don't use the Service for anything where a breach would be catastrophic.
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
If you install the device where it will capture people other than yourself (household members, guests, employees, tenants), you are responsible for giving them notice and obtaining any consent required by law where you live — see the Terms of Service, Section 3. We only process this footage for you, per your zone and detection configuration; we don't use footage from your camera to train models for other customers.
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above.
